Windows 11, Second monitor can't be detected, even when both monitors work independently.
My husband just built me a new PC and got Windows 11 downloaded on it. But it doesn't seem to be working with my dual monitor setup. I have two Lenovo monitors, one is connected via HDMI cable, the other connected via DVI cable. When just the HDMI monitor is connected, it works fine. When just the DVI monitor is connected, it works fine. But when I have both connected, only the DVI monitor works and the HDMI monitor can't be detected. I have a DVI port in the back of the computer that connects to the graphics card, and one that connect to the motherboard. Both ports work fine for displaying the DVI monitor, but it's just getting the HDMI monitor to work at the same time that's the issue.
I have tried updating drivers, they're all up to date. I have tried rolling back the drivers, no success. I have tried restarting multiple times and switching cables around. I have tried finding the monitor in the Intel Graphics Command Center, but it's not detected there either.
I see that this is a problem that many people have had all over the place online, but I can't seem to find an answer for what worked in resolving it.
SOLVED: I tried updating drivers via the Device Manager, but consistently got the message that they were up to date. So I ended up downloading GeForce Experience to check for drivers there. Sure enough, there were some drivers that automatically got installed. After installing, the second monitor got detected and started automatically.
