Boss is particular about things that don’t matter

I work for a guy who builds custom homes. When framing he cares about things that don’t matter, such as cutting angles on framing instead leaving them run long, and removing nails that missed. This stuff is a waste of time. Cutting dry wall he wants the cuts that are covered behind trim to be perfect and square. Why waste time on making thing perfect that have no effect on build quality and no one will see?
