Admiral spotted excess mileage when processing a hit and run insurance claim
Hi all,
I had an accident at the start of August where a driver rear ended me and fled from the scene, leaving me to deal with my insurance to deal with my written off car. Stupidly, I forgot to increase my milage and it is quite significantly over my allowance. It was a simple case of forgetting due to moving both jobs and home, basically life got in the way. They have already took the car and told me to transfer ownership, so i am slightly worried about what would happen if the claim was to be rejected due to the increase of mileage.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Update - Thanks all. The insurance company emailed me shortly after posting this, they are giving me a portion of the vehicle value due to being over my policy miles. To anyone in this situation, confirm with your GAP insurance, if you have a policy, if they will be willing to still commit to meeting to either invoice value, or to commit to meeting the finance shortfall. In my case, they will cover my invoice amount, so the finance will be paid off with some left over.
