iQor Interview walkthrough as a student without experience (I lied that I had stopped studying)

12:30 P.M. - I went into the iQor recruitment hub and was immediately assisted by the lady at the counter. She asked for my resume and valid ID and had me fill out a form. After filling in the necessary information, I then sat in the waiting area.

1:05 P.M. - I was called for the initial interview, which was moderated by Sir K. He first reminded me that no Tagalog expressions were allowed and warned of the termination of my application if I didn't adhere to what was agreed/contracted.

Sir K required me to provide a TOR or proof that I had already dropped out if I passed, after asking about my educational attainment. Sir K had a very strong personality. He did not even take his eyes off me (help), nor did he smile throughout the interview. I was nervous that time, I won't deny it. And that time I already thought that I had a low chance of being admitted.

NOTE TO SELF: SPEAK LOUDER WHEN TALKING (Sir K reminded me twice to make my voice louder)

I was asked these questions:

What was your highest educational attainment?

If you have plans to continue your studies, in what year approximately? (I said here that I don't see myself pursuing my studies for the next 2-3 years because of financial problems.)

What do you know about BPO?

Since you have no experience, what problems do you think you will encounter?

What is your edge? (I wanted to make a joke here about a Lady Gaga song, haha)

NOTE TO ASK: SHOULD I BE PLAYFUL AND THROW SOME JOKES IN AN INTERVIEW?

The whole interview lasted only 5 minutes, and I was told to wait for the result of the initial interview. I have low hopes for it because I performed really badly, and even if I pass, I can't provide the TOR or certification of dropping out of school that they want, so I may not be able to continue my application here.

NOTE TO ASK: SHOULD I ANSWER EACH QUESTION WITH NO CONCERN FOR HOW LONG MY ANSWER WILL TAKE? (Sir K gave off the vibe (he looked like he was in a rush) that I should answer his questions precisely and concisely without any unnecessary background story. Due to that, I was tense the whole time and tried to just say what was necessary, even though I really wanted to give a bit of background to my answers)

1:52 P.M. - CONCLUSION: I wasn't able to get in. As per Sir K, there was no available account suited to my English speaking proficiency, but he said that he saw potential in me. As for feedback, he said that I should work on my grammar, how I organize my thoughts, and my confidence.

Well, I already expected it, so the result didn't affect me that much, but it is still regretful, to say the least.

This is my 2nd interview overall in my pursuit of gaining a career in BPO. The recruitment process at iQor felt so rushed and different compared to my 1st interview at Teleperformance, where everything was just chill, so I was left overwhelmed. Still, I know the fault was mine. Anyway, it was fun overall, and I learned a great deal about how culture really differs from company to company. I'll make sure to prepare myself for that in my next interview.

(Tbh hindi ko naramdaman ung haba ng byahe pag-uwi kasi nakatulala lang ako and iniisip what went wrong and what if I said this instead hahahaha pero I know na hindi dapat ako maglinger sa ganitong thoughts, kailangan mag-move forward para maging successful)
